The Firewise USA program is a program offered through the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) that empowers communities with tools and resources to reduce their wildfire risk and encourages neighbors to work together and take action against loss caused by wildfire. Tuolumne County has received a grant to assist with the education and outreach efforts associated with becoming a Firewise USA site. This grant is intended to help educate residents about wildfire threats through workshops, meetings, materials creation and other educational activities to increase awareness towards reducing the total number of acres burned caused by wildland fires.
Developed by the Tuolumne County GIS team, this map is a resource for you to look up your local fire station and fire districts. Anyone outside a defined/named district would be in County Fire/CalFire response area except National Forest and Yosemite, which have their own fire operations. (Note: This map can be utilized as a tool to define areas you would like to include in your Firewise community. There is a print option here and parcel lines to provide further definition)
