Home Visits

Home visits can help you during the prenatal stage by:
  • Creating a birth plan for your time at the hospital and the first few days at home
  • Getting you and your home ready for your baby's arrival
  • Promoting mother and child safety and health
  • Providing teaching on breastfeeding, pregnancy, and newborn care
Home visits can help after delivery by:
  • Making any referrals and contact your doctor as needed
  • Offering breastfeeding support
  • Promoting parent-child attachment
  • Providing infant care teaching and answer questions
  • Providing one to two home visits during your baby's first week of life
  • Weighing and assessing your baby
WIC would like all breastfeeding mothers and babies to be supported their first week of life to help get off to a great start.
