Health Care Changes 2021
As you are aware the County is switching from PERS healthcare to PRISM healthcare.  On August 20, letters were sent to our bargaining units relaying the Board’s decision to leave PERS Health and move to PRISM Health.  This decision was based on correspondence from CalPERS Board of Administration on July 13, 2021 announcing the health plan rates for 2022. Part of this announcement was confirmation of their transition from three PPO plans (PERS Care, PERS Choice and PERS Select) to two PPO plans (PERS Platinum and PERS Gold). PERS had announced this proposed transition in early May and as a result, the County sought quotes for health insurance from other vendors to determine if there were better insurance options at a better cost available for our employees. Below are links to documents to help employees understand some of the changes.
