1. I need a survey; can the County survey my property?

No. You will need to hire a private licensed Land Surveyor.

3. How much does it cost to have my land surveyed?

Land surveys vary in cost. The size and location of the lot along with the type of terrain and vegetation are some of the factors that will affect the cost of the survey. Most licensed surveyors will provide an estimate for the survey.

4. Does a land surveyor have the Right of Entry to my private property without my permission?

Yes, while performing a survey as provided for in Section 846.5 of the Civil Code, Section 8774 of the Business & Professions Code and Section 602.8 of the Penal Code. Notice to the landowner shall be given where practicable.

5. How can I get a copy of a map?

Copies of maps such as Subdivisions, Parcel Maps and Records of Survey along with other survey documents may be purchased at the County Surveyor’s Office.

6. Can I get copies of maps on line?

No, maps are not available on line at this time.

7. My property has two Assessor Parcel Numbers; can I sell one?
