1. What type of events need Special Event Permits?

1. Parades 
2. Any event that requires street closures 
3. Races (foot, bike or coasting devices) 
4. Film permits which require a street closure. 
5. Miscellaneous events which require street closure or traffic control signage within the County road right-of-way. 

NOTE: Musical events that anticipate a 1,000 or greater attendance will also require a special event permit from the Community Development Department.

2. How far in advance do I need to apply for permit?

It depends upon the complexity of the event. Typically, a new event requires a 2 month advanced notice.

3. What needs to be submitted?

a. Application form filled out
b. Certificate of Liability Insurance
c. Traffic Control Plan

4. What is the fee for a Special Event Permit?

a.Non-profit events (501c) are “No Fee” b.For profit events please refer to the Fee Schedule
