What resources and services does Public Health provide for children and adults?

Public Health has a variety of programs available for children, adults and families. Resource referral and linkage is also a large component of the services provided. Some of the programs available include: 

•Communicable Disease Investigation, Prevention and Control

•Immunizations for adults and children 

•Lead Poisoning Prevention Program-offers education and surveillance

•Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) for supplemental food, nutrition education 

•Child Health & Disability Prevention (CHDP)- referrals and follow ups for periodic health screening 

•Keep Baby Safe Child Car Seat Program- education on proper use of car seats, current laws 

•California Children’s Services (CCS)-assists with medical expenses for children 0-21 with qualifying medical conditions 

•Targeted Case Management (TCM)-Public Health Nurse makes home visits to referred families to provide health assessments, resources and referrals, health and life skills teaching 

•Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)-offers support and home visits to affected families 

•Emergency Preparedness (EP)- emergency response planning and preparation

•Tobacco Prevention and Education-provides a comprehensive approach to prevention, education, quit smoking and chewing strategies 

•Emergency Medical Services (EMS)-provides oversight services to maintain efficient emergency medical services
