[ARCHIVED] Subject: Important Notice: Limited Inspection Availability

Dear Valued Customers,

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate temporary staffing limitations that are impacting our building inspection services. We recognize the importance of timely inspections to keep your projects on track and regret any inconvenience that current delays may cause.

Recently, we experienced a retirement in our inspection team, and while we are eager to fill this position, a County hiring freeze directed by the Board of Supervisors prevents us from doing so at this time. This means we have fewer inspectors available, which impacts our ability to meet all inspection requests as promptly as we strive to do. We want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to manage inspection demand, but under current conditions, some appointments may be delayed.

We are working to identify any changes we can make to our processes accommodate our customers and  adjust to what is hopefully a temporary freeze. We know that delays can be frustrating, and we apologize for any disruptions to your project timelines. We are committed to prioritizing health and safety inspections and essential services to minimize the impact on your projects, and we are actively seeking solutions to return to full capacity as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through this challenging period. If you have any questions or require further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Sincerely,
 Quincy Yaley
 Director, Community Development Department
