Mandatory Commercial Recycling

California State Assembly Bill 341 established mandatory recycling for businesses. All businesses generating four or more cubic yards of waste per week are required to recycle. Under the law, all multifamily residential dwellings of five units or more must recycle, regardless of the amount of waste generated.

Recycling Options

Businesses have a choice in how they recycle. The options are:

  • Make arrangements with the franchise hauler in your collection area to collect commingled recyclables and/or cardboard

  • Self haul recyclable materials to a recycling center

  • Donate your recyclables

  • Tuolumne County flyer

Recycling Benefits

  • Recycling may provide opportunities for your business to save money.

  • Recycling helps conserve resources and extends the life of California's landfills.

  • Recycling helps create a healthy environment for our community and future generations.
