Sonora, California – Tuolumne County District Attorney Laura Krieg announced today that Eric Hovatter has been selected to serve as the Assistant District Attorney. Mr. Hovatter started his career as a prosecutor in Ventura in 1994. He moved to Tuolumne County in 2000 to work as a Deputy District Attorney. He has served under District Attorneys Tim Clancy, Donald Segerstrom, Mike Knowles, and Laura Krieg. Mr. Hovatter vertically handles all of the Elder Abuse cases for the District Attorney’s Office and has tried over 250 jury trials to verdict. In addition, Mr. Hovatter teaches for the California District Attorneys Association in the areas of Trial Advocacy and Felony Prosecutions. District Attorney Krieg stated that the position is well deserved and that Mr. Hovatter will continue to serve and protect the citizens of Tuolumne County in his new position.
