Tuolumne County District Attorney Cassandra Jenecke announced today that on April 28, 2025, the Honorable Judge Laura L. Krieg sentenced Michael Guerrero of Modesto to the maximum allowable sentence which was 12 years in State Prison. His sentence comes after a jury found Mr. Guerrero guilty of multiple charges, including multiple counts of Stalking and multiple counts of Disobeying a Court Order. The defendant admitted that he had suffered a prior strike conviction for Criminal Threats in 2023.
The convictions arise out of multiple instances where the defendant continued to contact and harass the victim in March 2024 and September 2024 despite the victim having a Criminal Protective Order issued prohibiting the defendant from making any contact with her. That Criminal Protective Order was issued in the strike prior case where Mr. Guerrero was convicted of Criminal Threats against the victim where he threatened to torture and kill her.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Samantha Arnerich.
