
Sonora, Calif. – Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing and conviction statistics for the third quarter of their DUI Prosecution Unit. The DUI Prosecution Unit was created in October 2024, and funded by a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).
The statistics for the second quarter of the grant are as follows: 
- DUI Cases Reviewed: 73
- DUI Cases Filed: 72
- DUI Convictions: 82
- Wet Reckless Convictions: 10
During this quarter, the Unit’s prosecutor took three cases to jury trial, and one to a court trial. 
The DUI Prosecution Unit is currently staffed by one experienced prosecutor from the District Attorney’s Office. The program is currently funded through September 2025. The District Attorney’s Office has submitted our application to receive the grant again for the 2025-2026 grant year. 
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
